Research Assistant (part-time)
Job
Description
Research Assistant will primarily be responsible for
finding and printing out accident and combat loss reports
from microfilm, using a microfilm viewer/printer.
Additional responsibilities may include: entering data into
a computer database of aircraft accidents, organizing
accident reports and accident photos. The possibility also
exists for photographic darkroom work.
Requirements
Basic computer skills, a positive attitude, a good work
ethic, and a willingness to learn.
Familiarity
with
Microsoft Excel, and with WWII and Korean War
aircraft, are a plus.
Compensation:
$7.00/hour
5-10 hours per week expected, more available depending on
current projects
Schedule
very flexible: great opportunity for a student. Located in
east Mesa near Power Road and Baseline.
1)
Volunteer Indexer
AAIR is looking for volunteers to assist
with the databases. While these databases already contain
tens of thousands of records, they are far from complete!
We need volunteers to assist by going through the microfilm
and entering the information into a spreadsheet. To assist,
volunteers must have Excel and a microfilm or fiche viewer which
can be found on eBay for about $25.
2) Web
Master
AAIR is looking for someone who would be willing to make
regular updates and changes to the web site on a volunteer
basis.
3)
Office Assistant
AAIR is always interested in hearing from anyone willing to
help out in the office. From organizing reports to scanning
and filing photos, there is always something that needs to
be done.
